Fitch Ratings on Dec. 29 affirmed and withdrew the ratings for FirstMerit Corp. and unit FirstMerit Bank NA.

The rating agency affirmed and withdrew the companies' short-term issuer default ratings of F1, viability ratings of "a-," individual ratings of B and support ratings of 5. FirstMerit Corp.'s A- issuer default rating was affirmed and withdrawn. The bank's long-term issuer default rating of A-, long-term deposits rating of A and short-term deposits rating of F1 were also affirmed and withdrawn, among other ratings.

Fitch said the ratings are uncompensated.
